Book talk: (Possible)

Are you struggling?  Does it feel like no matter how much you invest, how long you persist, how hard you try, you just do not feel that you have found your calling in life?  Have you lost your faith in humanity; given up your belief that one person can make a difference? Well then perhaps you need to take a few hours and check out Stephan Bauman's Possible .

Bauman's purpose in Possible is transparent and precise--from intro to appendix.  Bauman utilizes historical examples and quotes from across the generations, along with interactive and informative tools embedded in the text and in later appendixes to lay out strong blueprints for his vision of changing the world (and ourselves).  His personal experiences serve as reinforcements to his practical examples without watering down his underlying mission of world change through individual awareness and action, overcoming complacency, and embracing hope.

Possible approaches change with a blueprint that is focused on personal, practical, universal steps towards change.  Bauman contends that God provides each of us with a continuum of personal awakening and fulfillment of calling, which requires only a seed of faith and a drop of hope to access.  He asserts that those who accept and explore their calling will not only find greater grace, but bear richer, more abundant fruits from their labors.

Bauman does not believe that a calling is achieved through cut-throat determination or glutenous focus.  Instead, he contends that callings are meant to be a collaboration of community/networking, creative and innovative vision, and learning and growth through personal experiences--including seeming setbacks, mistakes, and failures.  Bauman reassures us that all you need to live the life God planned for you is faith, passion, patience, and friends.

Possible reminds us all to keep our beliefs, values, and behaviors aligned such that the world becomes our canvas and our minds, hearts, and spirits become the palette with which we will turn the impossible into "I'm possible".
